THRU HOLE

Through-hole is an effective method used in the pcb assembly process.  This method of assembling printed circuit boards is accomplished by inserting small pins on electronic parts through small holes that have been drilled in the PCB.  The pins are then soldered to the pad on the other end of the hole.
